He is a forester for the Austrian Empire.  He has come up with numerous inventions but his superiors see him as an annoyance.  An industrious, unconventional spirit, he wants to revolutionise shipping with a new kind of power.  Powerful businessmen wanting to protect their living put all kinds of obstacles in his way.  But neither poverty, intrigue, police bans nor fate can deter him.  Josef Ressel and the invention of the screw propeller.
October 1829.  All of Trieste is out today.  The head of police, harbour captain, university professors.  All want to be here for the presentation.  A sensational invention – a new type of ship’s propulsion. Josef Ressel has been looking forward to this day for years.  Finally he can show everyone his invention.
His tombstone lies a few hundred meters away from where he died, in the Ljubeljana cemetery.  Josef Ressel, the forester with a dream to revolutionise sea travel.
