An adventure tale of chivalric romance, based on the legend about King Pippin the Short and Bertha, Princess of Hungary.King Pippin is a wise ruler and courageous warrior, the best knight in the land. Unfortunately he is somewhat short in stature and is therefore not very lucky with the ladies. So he decides to bring in a Princess from a foreign land. Princess Bertha has a beautiful figure, she is lovely and clever, but her feet dont exactly correspond to the conception of a noblewomans tiny foot. That is surely no obstacle and the wedding preparations can begin. We find that much more important things can arise to spoil the outlook for a happy marriage for the king and princess. Things like treachery, envy and the lust for power on the part of people neither born to rule nor endowed with spiritual greatness. There are even individuals wholl use murder as a tool to achieve their own ends. But a short stature or big feet can be useful at times and can sometimes help unveil treason. And then evil can be punished and life enjoyed with those who have bravely and selflessly helped good to win through.
